Founded on a quiet conviction
Moradok was established in 2011 by a small group of Thai legal practitioners who had spent years working within larger firms and found that inheritance matters — wills, estates, probate — were rarely given the time and sensitivity they deserved. Clients arrived at a difficult moment in their lives, often grieving, often confused by a legal system they had never encountered before, and were moved through processes at a pace suited to the firm rather than the family.
The founders set out to do things differently. The name Moradok is the Thai word for inheritance, and it shapes everything — the pace at which we work, the way we speak with clients, and the care we bring to every document we prepare.
Fourteen years on, our practice remains deliberately measured in size. We handle matters in Bangkok and across Thailand, working with both Thai nationals and international families who have assets or loved ones here. We operate in English and Thai, and we take our time with every matter we accept.

Somchai Kanchanawat
Senior Partner
Called to the Thai Bar in 2001, Somchai has concentrated on succession law since 2007. He leads our probate work and takes personal charge of each complex matter.
Nattaporn Wongsakul
Associate & Will Specialist
Nattaporn joined Moradok in 2015 and focuses on will drafting and estate planning. She is known among clients for the thoroughness of her document reviews and the gentleness of her consultations.
Phiraphon Ariyawat
Estate Administration Lead
Phiraphon oversees the practical side of estate administration, managing the correspondence, filings, and timelines that keep matters moving smoothly through Thai authorities.

Licensed Thai Bar Practice
All practising members of Moradok hold current licences from the Lawyers Council of Thailand and are in good standing with no disciplinary record.
Client Confidentiality Protocol
All client information, correspondence, and documentation is treated as strictly confidential. We do not share details between matters, and we store records securely with limited access.
Document Review Standard
Every document we produce — whether a will, petition, or estate summary — is reviewed by a second member of the team before being shared with the client or filed with any authority.
Timely Client Updates
We commit to providing status updates within two working days of any development in a matter, so clients are never left wondering where things stand.
Fee Transparency
Our service fees are stated clearly before any engagement begins. Additional costs — such as court filing fees — are itemised separately and agreed in advance.

All legal staff complete regular professional development in Thai succession law, civil procedure, and cross-border estate matters to keep their knowledge current.
Our Expertise
Inheritance law in Thailand — a considered practice
The Thai Civil and Commercial Code governs succession in Thailand, covering both intestate inheritance (where no will exists) and testate succession (governed by a valid will). The rules differ in important ways from the legal frameworks many international clients are familiar with, particularly around the types of assets that can be disposed of by will and the classes of statutory heirs who may claim a share.
Moradok's practitioners have spent their careers in this area of Thai law. We are familiar with the Civil Court procedures for will execution and probate appointments, the documentation Thai land offices require when property transfers to heirs, and the particular considerations that arise when one or more parties to an estate live abroad.
We work steadily and methodically. Inheritance law is not an area that benefits from haste, and we have seen over many years that families who feel supported through the process find the outcome far easier to accept — even when the legal path is complex or when family members hold different views about the estate.
